When I started this blog, there was a long winded “About” section here that told how I came about to building a website dedicated to keeping the worst president we ever elected, a one term oops.
How I was surprised that the American voting public would elect a man who hated everything that made America great, to the position of President of the United States.
I decided to change all that when I watched this video of Daniel Hannan, a member of the European Parliament. He addressed a group of conservative republicans, to explain how America, under Obama and his czars, is heading to a way of life that Europe is trying to break away from.
His speech fits perfect with the purpose of this website. To warn U.S. political conservatives not to follow in Europe’s tragic footsteps. That by allowing our very own government to seize too much power and create large groups of dependency through mismanaged socialized government programs — the very Welfare State culture that has a strangle hold on the major economies such as Britain, France, Germany and Italy.
It’s About Leadership
The one thing that came from my American History class is that this country was capable of doing some amazing things. That each generation can learn from the past and be better than the last.
We started out as a bunch of scrappy little colonies and built ourselves into a nation that changed the world. We became something special. And we did it by having great leaders that believed in the nation and believed in its people to do better.
Than Came 2008
Over the last 200 and some odd years, we have elected some ineffective leaders, that is true. But most often, we elected leaders who aspired to do more. They inspired the people to try harder, do more and challenge ourselves to leave something better for the next generation. Even the bad leaders thought they were doing something great for the nation and tried.
That all ended in 2008 when we elected the first modern President who believed in his heart, his actions and his words, that America’s best days were behind her. A president who believes he is here to guide the nation down a path that have doomed other nations, but thinks will save our nation. His quest is for us to repeat the errors of our past and pay for what he sees as sins of our forefathers.
To make matters worse, the checks and balances that our founders put into place to stop such actions are being ignored by those we put in charge of those devices.
